Teilen/Rhine: Success
May 9, 2011
I can’t believe that it was one week ago that we launched Teilen at MOTR. By all accounts and measurements, the event was a success, and it’s because of you, Cincinnati. More than 60 people attended Teilen/Rhine and 11 individuals got up on stage and told a personal story. The topic of the stories were varied – a perfect combination of funny, touching, and memorable – yet all genuine. I think everyone found something with which to relate.
The storytellers took us on journeys through Northside, cancer, family vacations, hot tubs, and beyond. Laughter from the audience began with a walk down one storyteller’s memory lane from college parties and continued through the final storyteller’s real-life account with the mafia. It was the ultimate display of sharing and connecting.
So now what? What’s next for Teilen? Soon we’ll share podcasts of the Teilen/Rhine stories, and, most importantly we will announce the winning story from the May event. The events continue to be planned; Teilen/Clifton is booked for 6/5/11 at Aquarius Star. [get tix now, hint hint.]
Huge thanks go to everyone who supported the first-ever Teilen – attendees, storytellers, volunteers, sponsors, Facebook friends, and Twitter followers.
Lots more to come, so stay tuned.
